Cup finals making OT an annual thing
Overtime Payoff: Last night’s Stanley Cup finals Game 1 went triple overtime after the Kings won last year’s Game 1 also in overtime. It marked the first time since 1934-1935 that Game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals has been decided in overtime in consecutive years. The good news for Chicago? In each of those previous three series, the team that won Game 1 went on to win the Cup.
