Highlights and lowlights of action from Saturday:
Blues 6, Predators 1
FROM ELIAS: Alexander Steen scored his 9th and 10th goals of the season in the win. Steen reached double-figures in goals in the team’s 9th game, tying him with Brett Hull (in 1989–90 and 1990–91) and Scott Young (2000–01) for 2nd-fastest in team history, behind Brian Sutter, who in 1978–79 hit the 10-goal mark in the Blues’ 8th game. Steen reached the 10-goal mark in a season quicker than any NHL players since 2006–07, when Buffalo’s Chris Drury and Atlanta’s Marian Hossa also scored their 10th goal in their team’s 9th game.
Flyers 5, Islanders 2
FROM ELIAS: Vincent Lecavalier recorded his 1st hat trick for the Flyers and the 7th of his NHL career. Lecavalier notched 6 3-goal games in the 14 seasons he played for the Lightning and the last of those was also vs the Islanders, on March 11, 2008. He’s 1 of 4 active NHL players with 2 career hat tricks vs the Islanders; the others are Jaromir Jagr, Evgeni Malkin and Ryan Malone.
