Lineup shuffling for Kings, but not Ducks

Jeff Carter ended Game 1 on the Los Angeles Kings' big line with Anze Kopitar and Marian Gaborik as Kings head coach Darryl Sutter shortened his bench looking for a goal.

Carter was back at center Monday morning at the pr-game skate on a line between Tanner Pearson and Tyler Toffoli.

And Jeff Schultz checks into the lineup for the injured Robyn Regehr. At least during Monday morning’s skate, Schultz was alongside Slava Voynov on the second defense pairing.

One thing to consider, though, is that there are two days off between Games 2 and 3, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Sutter shortened his bench again in the third period and played his top players more.

Expected Kings lineup for Game 2 Monday night:

Forwards
Marian Gaborik-Anze Kopitar-Dustin Brown
Tanner Pearson-Jeff Carter-Tyler Toffoli
Dwight King-Jarret Stoll-Justin Williams
Kyle Clifford-Mike Richards-Trevor Lewis

Defense pairs
Jake Muzzin-Drew Doughty
Jeff Schultz-Slava Voynov
Alec Martinez-Matt Greene

Goalie: Jonathan Quick

As for the Ducks, the same we saw in Game 1 is expected, which is a bit surprising because head coach Bruce Boudreau says he can’t remember if that ever happened all season long. The depth the team has up front led to changes pretty much every game.

But forwards Daniel Winnik and Kyle Palmieri will once again sit in Game 2.

Forwards
Matt Beleskey-Ryan Getzlaf-Corey Perry
Andrew Cogliano-Saku Koivu-Jakob Silfverberg
Emerson Etem-Nick Bonino-Devante Smith-Pelly

Defense pairs
Cam Fowler-Ben Lovejoy
Hampus Lindholm-Francois Beauchemin
Bryan Allen-Mark Fistric

Goalie: Jonas Hiller
