J.P. Dumont of the Nashville Predators was a healthy scratch for the second time in three games Sunday, prompting rampant trade rumors in cyberspace that linked him to both the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs.
That was news to Preds GM David Poile.
"There's no truth to any of it," Poile told ESPN.com. "J.P. has a no-movement clause and I haven't spoken to him about it."
The Preds have been active on the phones ahead of Monday's 3 p.m. ET trade deadline, hoping to find help after losing center Marcel Goc for the season to injury.
But as we always stay at this time of the year, especially on the eve of the deadline, anything can happen.
