Watch: Dynamo's tribute to Lokomotiv
When the Russian Yak-42 jet crashed on Wednesday, it was carrying the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl players to their season opener against Dynamo Minsk.
With the KHL season postponed until Monday, Dynamo chose to honor the Lokomotiv team on the ice on Thursday night during the time they would have been playing.
All of the tickets for the soldout game were used as more than 15,000 people gathered at Minsk Arena for the ceremony, according to Russia Today.
A memorial ceremony for victims of the crash will be held Saturday at Lokomotiv Yaroslavl's hockey arena.
All but one of the 28 Lokomotiv Yaroslavl players traveling to Belarus was killed in the crash. Alexander Galimov survived the crash along with a crew member. Both are said to be critical.
