Things to know: Kings-Coyotes, Game 1
By Paul Grant
If you know nothing else, know this: The Kings are crazy-good away from the Staples Center. Sunday's win was their sixth straight on the road. Maybe they just like being away from the smog.
Love dies in the desert: These division rivals haven't forgotten the love they lost for each other during the season. I shove you.
Dustin Brown, he's no clown: His wrister for the game-winning goal was a thing of beauty and a testament that you absolutely cannot waste a rare golden opportunity in these playoffs. Shoot the puck!
Jonathan Quick is mortal, as it turns out: Or else Derek Morris has the biggest bomb from 98 feet that you've ever seen. Who does Quick think he is, Roman Turek? Or Dan Cloutier? Or Chris Osgood? Etc.
Shane Doan can lift truck tires with his bare hands: This is what I think after seeing him dump Mike Richards like a bag of wet cement out of a wheelbarrow. It looked like Richards was really, really hurt, landing flat on his back like that. Not much padding back there.
Glendale, Ariz., loves its Coyotes: The "White Out" or "White Shadow" or "White-ever" playoff tradition was nice to see again, in a poaching-all-things kind of way. After all, nothing says Arizona like white, especially given that the home teams don't wear white anymore.
