Kings could make history with Sutter
By ESPN Stats and Information Group
No Stability Needed: The series is far from over, but the Kings are three wins away from becoming just the second team in the history of the four major professional sports to win a championship despite having as many as three different head coaches/managers during the season (Terry Murray, John Stevens, Darryl Sutter). The 1978 Yankees did it with Billy Martin, Dick Howser and Bob Lemon.
Playoff Perennial: Nicklas Lidstrom has retired after 20 NHL seasons, all with Detroit. According to Elias, Lidstrom is one of just two players in the history of the four major professional sports to play in the postseason in 20 consecutive seasons. The NHL’s Larry Robinson (1973-92) is the other.
