The New York Rangers are keeping tabs on top rentals Andrej Sekera and Antoine Vermette, but a source told ESPN.com Tuesday that it appears unlikely the Blueshirts can get into the bidding on either player unless the price drops significantly.
Each player would fill an important need for the Rangers, but it’s not going to happen at the expense of mortgaging the future.
Again, this is the poker game in the final week before trade deadline: Will the sellers drop their price or will the buyers feel overwhelmed by the need to pay what it takes to get their man?
