North Carolina freshman P.J. Hairston -- who missed Saturday’s win over Virginia because of a sore left foot -- shot and went through dummy drills during Monday’s practice, coach Roy Williams said on his radio show.

But the reserve guard may not play Wednesday at Miami.

“We'll get his reaction of how it felt after doing that today and how it feels tomorrow,” Williams said Monday night during his weekly radio show. "And then we'll make a decision on whether to let him do anything more in practice and try to get a little more involved or just keep it at that. My guess, and I would emphasize strongly the word ‘guess’, is that he would not play against Miami, but we’ll have to see what it’s like tomorrow."

If Hairston can’t play on Wednesday, starters Reggie Bullock and Harrison Barnes, as well a senior reserve Justin Watts, will all share time at the shooting guard and small forward positions, Williams said earlier Monday on the ACC conference call.
