North Carolina's Leslie McDonald and P.J. Hairston combined for 49 points Tuesday night during the Greater NC Pro-Am in Durham. Their Sheraton Imperial team topped The Athlete's Foot 62-59. Some links from the game:
McDonald, who tore his ACL during the Pro-Am last season, was a force Tuesday night, writes Andrew Carter of The News & Observer. He scored 21 points.
Hairston ignored distractions during the victory, writes Harold Gutmann of The Herald-Sun. Hairston scored 28.
Here's a breakdown from The News & Record's David Morrison. He notes that former Tar Heel forward Rasheed Wallace, who teamed with Hairston and McDonald, had "a bunch of rebounds, a couple blocks, a couple missed jumpers, a lot of coaching on the court and walking up the floor on offense."
Pro-Am games continue Thursday. According to the schedule, the final game of the night will feature the Banks Law Firm team (which includes UNC freshmen J.P. Tokoto and Joel James, UNC junior Reggie Bullock, NC State's C.J. Leslie and Duke's Quinn Cook) vs. 751 South (which includes the Wolfpack's star freshman trio of T.J. Warren, Tyler Lewis and Rodney Purvis.)
The event continues through early August.
