UNC targets fare well at Peach Jam

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. -- Big man Kennedy Meeks played his opening games at the Peach Jam with a 102-degree temperature. Julius Randle, the No. 2 player in the class of 2013, put on show after show. Guard Theo Pinson, fresh off a scholarship offer from North Carolina, said he was thrill to see UNC’s Roy Williams watching his games. And wing Troy Williams, who re-expanded his list of schools a couple of months ago after whittling it to the Tar Heels and Kentucky, continued to be watched by Carolina’s coaches.

The full breakdown of box scores and stats from the tournament can be found here. But here’s how the quartet of players, who all have offers from UNC, fared at the Peach Jam over the weekend:

  • Meeks -- His Team United finished 3-3; he averaged 12 points and 8.5 rebounds

  • Pinson -- Led CP3, which finished 5-2, with 16.4 points and 5.1 rebounds. His team reached the semifinals before losing to the Oakland Soldiers.

  • Randle -- His Texas Titans team finished 2-3; he averaged 22.2 points and 13 rebounds. He finished second to Tyus Jones (25.8 ppg) in scoring average for the tournament, and was first in rebounding average.

  • Williams -- His Boo Williams squad finished 1-4, but he averaged 19.4 points and 6.6 rebounds.
