Guthridge to enter NC Sports Hall of Fame

Former North Carolina basketball coach Bill Guthridge will be among the 11 inductees into the N.C. Sports Hall of Fame in May, the organization announced Monday.
Per The Fayetteville Observer, the other new members include: former Tar Heels running back Kelvin Bryant; NHL Hall of Famer Ron Francis; two-time Gold Glove winner Tommy Helms; ex-Elon tight end Rich McGeorge; Marion Kirby, whose Greensboro Page High football teams won four state championships; fast-pitch softball's Wade Garrett; the late sports photographer Hugh Morton; former Charlotte Observer columnist Bob Quincy; Marty Sheets, who holds 250 Special Olympics medals; and tennis' Mildred Southern.
