Notre Dame fans can exhale, for now.

Boston College's new head coach is Temple's Steve Addazio, meaning Bob Diaco is still the Irish's defensive coordinator.

Diaco had reportedly been one of three finalists for the Eagles' head-coaching job.

Of course, as we have seen during this silly season, nothing is too crazy (Welcome to Fayetteville, Mr. Bielema!), but right now Notre Dame fans can sleep a little bit better — and Alabama fans maybe not so much — knowing that the coordinator of the nation's No. 1 scoring defense is remaining put in South Bend, preparing his team for the Jan. 7 national title game.

Diaco earned a pair of assistant coaching awards earlier Tuesday.
