Possible surprises on ND schedule?

On Friday, Pac-12 blogger Kevin Gemmell and I offered our views on Notre Dame's biggest matchup with the Pac-12. He chose Arizona State, and he is not alone in thinking the Sun Devils can be one of the more surprising challenges on the Irish's 2013 schedule.

College football guru Phil Steele lists ASU as one of top potential surprise teams for the 2013 season, putting the Sun Devils at No. 5, praising their running backs and defensive line.

Two spots above ASU, at No. 3 on the list? That would be the USC Trojans, Notre Dame's arch-rival whom Kevin and I did not list in our debate last week.

Can the Trojans possibly go under the radar this year? (They did in 2011.) Can Oklahoma, which is No. 8 on Steele's list, ever be considered a sleeper team.
