How we voted in Top 25s, Heisman Watch

Week 1 is in the books. And since I have a say in ESPN.com's Top 25 and Heisman Watch, I figured I would share with you loyal readers how I voted in each poll.

I am in agreement with the majority of my colleagues at the top of both lists, with Alabama holding the No. 1 ranking and with Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd taking the early lead for the sport's most-coveted individual honor. You can see detailed breakdowns of each by clicking on the links.

Of note: I do not have a vote in the Associated Press poll or a vote for the Heisman Trophy.

Also of note: I base my polls off what has actually happened, not what I think will unfold over the course of the season. So if you are wondering why I have a special teams stud and a previously-unheard of defensive player on my Heisman watch, well, it is because I thought that they were among the best players to play in college football games in so far in the 2013 season. They may very well (and very likely) do nothing else of note the rest of the season, and my weekly list will be sure to reflect that.
