Take a bow, Aaron Lynch.

The defensive end made a huge splash in his first season of college ball. And his biggest mark came in just his second game.

Lynch took home the honor of top individual performance by a Notre Dame player in 2011. He received 52 percent of the more the nearly-700 votes cast for a sack, forced fumble and six quarterback hurries in Notre Dame's 31-13 win over Michigan State in Week 3, the Irish's first victory of the season.

Manti Te'o came in second place, picking up 30 percent of the vote for his Week 8 performance against Navy. Te'o notched 13 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks against the Midshipmen. He had seven tackles on the first two drives of the game.

Michael Floyd's five-catch, 41-yard performance against Florida State in the Champs Sports Bowl came in third, gaining just 11 percent of the vote. Floyd stood out in that loss for a 41-yard punt return and his circus-like five-yard touchdown grab in the third quarter.

The "other" category received 7 percent of the vote. Cierre Wood's 191-yard performance Week 5 at Purdue and George Atkinson III's kickoff return for a touchdown Week 7 against USC were some of the other performances mentioned for being overlooked.
