ESPN Playbook recently caught up with 10 NFL draft picks to get their takes on the next step. Jon Gold interviewed former Notre Dame wide receiver Michael Floyd, who touched on a number of subjects as he starts his pro career with the Arizona Cardinals.
ESPN Playbook: What has been your “Welcome to the NFL” moment?
Floyd: I would say when I got to minicamp for the first time, being on the field, seeing the facility for the first time since I visited Arizona [for a private workout before the draft]. It was great, knowing you’ve wanted to be here since you were a little kid. It’s like your dream of being an NFL player has come true.
What are you going to miss the most about college?
Just being with the guys I met while I was there. Coming in with the class I came in with, those 23 guys, we became close friends. You don’t really know what everyone is going to do now.
There are some other nice tidbits in there about the trip to New York and the bigger spotlight Floyd is now in. You can read the rest of Gold's interview here. A warning, though: Irish fans probably won't like Floyd's choice of college cheerleaders.
