Midwest recruiting coordinator Jared Shanker hopped on The Verbal Commitment podcast this week to talk about big upcoming weekends for Notre Dame and Ohio State, but the Irish's biggest moves may already be in motion.
"ESPN 150 linebacker Alex Anzalone was on campus earlier this week. It was the second time he's been to Notre Dame. Everything went really well, real positive reviews for Notre Dame coming out of that. And Anzalone actually decided to put Notre Dame in his top two along with Florida."

The full exchange, which can be found here, takes place around the 15-minute mark, with Shanker saying a decision from Anzalone could come this summer.

A four-star prospect, Anzalone made headlines in early May when he decommitted from Ohio State after a sex offender, who is also an Ohio State fan, posted a picture of himself and the junior linebacker on the Web.

The 6-foot-3, 231-pound Anzalone would be a huge get for the Irish. The Wyomissing, Pa., native is ESPN's 66th overall player in the nation and ranks No. 5 among outside linebackers.
