Week 6: Did you know?
By Matt Fortuna
Thanks to Notre Dame's sports information department for these tidbits:
Notre Dame is 22-6 all-time against Air Force and 10-4 against the Falcons at Notre Dame Stadium.
Notre Dame has won 11 of its past 13 meetings with Air Force but lost the most recent 41-24 in 2007.
Two of the 11 overtime games in Notre Dame history came against Air Force. The Fighting Irish lost 20-17 in 1996 before winning 34-31 in 2000.
Notre Dame has won more than 82 percent of its games (131-26-5) against the service academies — Army, Navy and Air Force.
Notre Dame is 24-6 all-time against current teams in the Mountain West Conference, with 28 of those games coming against Air Force. The only other MWC teams the Irish have faced are TCU in 1972 and San Diego State in 2008, winning both contests.
Tommy Rees has 10 consecutive games with a touchdown pass, tying him with 1964 Heisman Trophy winner John Huarte for the third-longest streak in school history.
Aaron Lynch is the first Irish player to record at least one solo sack in three consecutive games since Kyle Budinscak did in 2004.
Notre Dame has allowed 13 points or less in three consecutive games, the first time it has done that since 1989.
Robert Blanton is one of only two defensive backs in the nation this season to have at least two picks and five tackles for loss.
