Notre Dame, Big East agree on exit
By Andrea Adelson
Notre Dame and the Big East have reached an agreement that would allow the Irish to join the ACC in all sports but football on July 1, sources told ESPN.
Brett McMurphy and Andy Katz report that Notre Dame does not have to pay an exit fee because it agreed not to seek any of the $110 million in exit and entry fee revenues the Big East has collected over the last two years.
Though the Irish remain independent in football, they will begin playing five ACC schools a year starting in 2014.
