Re-ranking the Class of 2008

By Matt Fortuna

RecruitingNation takes a look back today at the top 10 recruiting classes from 2008, re-ranking them four years later.

Of course, hindsight is 20/20.

Notre Dame actually held steady, as it was ranked No. 9 in 2008 and remains that way today.
Collectively, this class underachieved and was more of a case where the pieces were greater than the sum. Michael Floyd, for example, proved to be one of the better receivers in college football and Kyle Rudolph continued the Irish's recent tradition of good tight ends and was a second-round pick in the 2011 NFL draft. As a senior, running back Jonas Gray finally realized the potential he showed coming out of high school.

Miami, which had the top-ranked class in 2008, is now replaced by Alabama, which was originally ranked No. 3.
