These three stood out in defeat for the Irish in the 41-30 loss Saturday night at Michigan:
TJ Jones, WR: The offensive captain was his usual reliable self, grabbing a head's-up touchdown pass early and finishing with nine catches for 94 yards despite clearly being bothered early by an apparent right arm injury.
Troy Niklas, TE: Most probably didn't see Tyler Eifert's replacement having this kind of production early, but Niklas turned in another strong outing, catching six passes for 76 yards and a touchdown. Last week he had a 66-yard touchdown against Temple, and he is clearly another threat for Tommy Rees in the passing game.
Stephon Tuitt, DE: Because there is nothing more exciting than seeing a 322-pounder dive in the end zone for a touchdown. Well, maybe if said 322-pounder is No. 7, and he is receiving the ball from a quarterback wearing No. 98. Tuitt now has two career touchdowns, and he got the Irish right back into the game with a head's up play after an awful decision by Devin Gardner.
