Raiders appreciate Khalif Barnes' versatility

ALAMEDA, Calif. -- Oakland Raiders offensive tackle Khalif Barnes is on the move again this week.

With right tackle Menelik Watson nursing a sore hip, Barnes moved from his left guard spot to work with the first team at right tackle. Barnes has been a versatile player for the Raiders and has started every game three of the past four seasons.

"It's a credit to him as a player," Oakland coach Dennis Allen said of Barnes. "We've moved him around a lot, and he’s been a very versatile player for us. That’s one of those things that I've talked about before, about guys with some versatility that can play multiple positions, so that would be the plan going in and we’ll see where we’re at come Thursday."

Rookie Gabe Jackson has been playing at left guard.
