ALAMEDA, Calif. -- Wednesday marks a sad and pivotal date in Oakland Raiders history.
Legendary team owner Al Davis died on Oct. 8, 2011. He was 82. Davis was in failing health for an extended time yet was making decisions until shortly before his death.
The Raiders were in Houston when Davis died and won an emotional thriller over the Texans the next day. Davis' son Mark now runs the team.
The 0-4 Raiders are still in flux on and off the field three years later. They will be looking for yet another coach in January and are considered candidates to move to Los Angeles.
