Canada has retained its "Own the Podium" program in name only.

The $117-million initiative met its target for the 2010 Winter Olympics at home in Vancouver when 14 golds were won by Canada -- more than any other country.

More celebrations might have to wait until the 2014 Sochi Winter Games.

"The reality is, certainly at the Summer Games, we won't 'Own the Podium," said Alex Baumann, the program's chief executive. "We won't be No. 1 ... but we want to move up the ladder."

Canada was 19th in 2004 in Athens and tied for 14th four years later. A top-12 finish is the London goal despite $34.5 million given to summer sports federations this year.
