USC picked up a commitment from linebacker Tre Madden this weekend, bringing the Trojans' 2011 commitment list to six.
Madden received his offer from the Trojans on Thursday and took little time to decide.
"I picked them because of the great tradition of linebackers and I want to fall in line and be one of those great players," Madden told the Orange County Register in a text message. "That's where my heart was."
Madden, a 6-foot-1, 215-pound middle linebacker from Mission Viejo, Calif., had just one scholarship offer heading into May, but picked up six more after working out at some camps. Included in that list were Arizona State, Colorado, Nebraska, Oregon, Texas A&M and Washington. USC was his final offer.
As a junior at Mission Viejo, Madden had 113 tackles and three sacks. He earned All-CIF honors.
