A win agaist an FCS foes doesn't deserve too much comment, so we're not going to dwell on California's easy 52-3 trenching of UC Davis.

What we will mention: Quarterback Kevin Riley completed 14 of 20 passes for 258 yards with three TDs and no interceptions.

So he was productive and efficient.

A big reason why? Now he's got some playmakers at receiver. True freshman Keenan Allen hauled in just four passes, but they went for 120 yards and a TD.

Oh, and California outgained UC Davis 517 to 81.
