First quarter: Stanford 10, California 0

California is making it easy for Stanford.

The Bears' two turnovers and five first-quarter penalties are the biggest reason Stanford leads the Big Game 10-0. That and a phenomenal 58-yard run from quarterback Andrew Luck that set up the Cardinal TD.

The Bears had five penalties for 44 yards in the first quarter, including an offside flag on third down that prolonged the Cardinal touchdown drive.

The Bears are moving the ball fairly well -- they had 71 yards in the first quarter -- but it's not going to be No. 6 Stanford playing sloppy football.
