Arizona tight end Rob Gronkowski, who was first-team All-Pac-10 in 2008, needs further medical tests on a unspecified leg injury that has kept him out of practices since Saturday, according to the Arizona Daily Star.
Gronkowski, the centerpiece of the Arizona offense, left the team, which is practicing at Fort Huachuca, and returned to Tucson. He is not expected to rejoin the Wildcats before they return to Tucson next week.
Coach Mike Stoops told the Daily Star that Gronkowski is "day-to-day and week-to-week."
Arizona opens its season at home versus Central Michigan on Sept. 5.
