EUGENE, Ore. -- Oregon is now playing without running back LaMichael James and QB Darron Thomas.

Nonetheless, it answered Arizona State's quick third-quarter TD drive with one of its own, and the Ducks now lead 28-24.

Oregon had the momentum going into the halftime locker room. Arizona State reclaimed it. Now the Ducks have it back.

Next?

Of course, it's a concern that Thomas is out of the game with a knee injury. Redshirt freshman Bryan Bennett is in at QB now. No word on Thomas' injury, and Oregon likely won't provide any.

Bennett was inconsistent in preseason camp but he's long been seen as a promising prospect. Good athlete.

But here's a guess Oregon folks would like to see Thomas get back in there.
