In the airport headed to LA for a week of fun and frolic with the Trojans, who apparently have a game this week.
Ohio State at USC: Widely billed as the national game of the year, though Ohio State's performance in a close win over Ohio seemed to make most think USC's got this one in the bag. When most people think something, it often pays to go against the grain.
Oklahoma at Washington: Is Huskies coach Tyrone Willingham on his last leg? Can Washington bounce back and play respectably after its crushing loss to BYU?
UCLA at BYU: UCLA had a bye week to come back to earth after its stunning win over Tennessee. A win at 18th-ranked BYU would show the nation that victory wasn't a flash in the pan.
Oregon at Purdue: Purdue QB Curtis Painter will be a nice challenge for the touted Oregon secondary. This should be a legit test for Oregon.
UNLV at Arizona State: Sun Devils can't afford to look ahead to Georgia. Actually, they probably can but we thought we'd go with what the coaches will say this week.
Hawaii at Oregon State: Beavers should bounce back against an underwhelming Hawaii team in their home-opener.
Arizona at New Mexico: This qualifies as the first real test to Arizona's legitimacy after a pair of blowout wins. Lobos beat the Wildcats last year, so a little revenge should add to the UA motivation.
California at Maryland: On the one hand, this is a road game against a BCS conference foe. On the other, that BCS conference is the ACC, and the Terrapins lost to Middle Tennessee State 24-14 on Saturday.
Stanford at TCU: A tough nonconference road game for the Cardinal, but a great opportunity for them to regain their confidence after taking a beating at Arizona State.
Washington State at Baylor: Two bad teams, but after watching the Cougars last weekend it's hard to figure anyone is worse. Or maybe a QB change will juice the woeful offense?
