Carroll on Johnson: 'Generally doing pretty well'

USC running back Stafon Johnson is communicating non-verbally and "resting well" after seven hours of surgery Monday to repair his windpipe and voice box, injuries he sustained when he dropped a bar on his throat while bench-pressing, coach Pete Carroll reported on the Pac-10 teleconference.

"He's generally doing pretty well," Carroll said.
