While Oregon coach Chip Kelly hasn't made an announcement, it's increasingly likely that Nate Costa will be the Ducks' starting quarterback at UCLA on Saturday because Jeremiah Masoli's bruised knee is still bothering him.
Before the 2008 season, Kelly was extremely high on Costa, and most folks who'd observed him in action shared -- or eclipsed -- his enthusiasm.
I've talked to more than a few Ducks insiders who believed that if Costa had been healthy when Dennis Dixon went down with a knee injury in 2007, Oregon might still have played for the national championship.
Then, of course, just as he was about to make his first start in 2008, he blew out his knee for the third time.
It seems like we've been close to meeting Costa so many times. This does a good job of introducing you to who he is, where he came from and what he's been through.
