The University of Washington and former Huskies quarterback Marques Tuiasosopo and his family are leading a tsunami disaster relief drive.
The group will be outside Husky Stadium on Saturday before the UW-Arizona game -- both programs have long traditions of Samoan players -- collecting donations. Everything collected -- 100 percent -- will go toward disaster relief, which includes much-needed supplies, such as clothing, personal hygiene items and medical assistance.
With schools, businesses and villages completely destroyed and thousands of people living in tents, recovery will be a long process and assistance of any amount is greatly appreciated, the news release said.
The Tuiasosopos, by the way, aren't just any Samoan family. They're royalty.
And, further, football fans in general owe Samoans.
