Riley left Oregon State in 1972 to coach in the Canadian Football League, serving as head coach for Toronto, Winnipeg, Hamilton and Calgary.
The World War II veteran is survived by his wife, Mary, of more than 60 years; sons Mike, Ed and Pete. Bud’s brother Hayden, a former head baseball and basketball coach at the University of Alabama, passed away in 1995.
Mike Riley will be at the team's practice today.
