STANFORD, Calf. -- Owen Marecic is going to be interesting to watch today.
He's Stanford's starting middle linebacker because Clinton Snyder is out. He will be in the middle of effort to slow the Ducks spread-option. He's also Stanford's starting fullback. He will be in the middle of the effort to break tailback Toby Gerhart free.
So Marecic, Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh's favorite player, will be in the middle of... everything.
Now, pause and think what a linebacker and fullback do. Collision after collision after collision. Often with each other.
Guess here is No. 48 in Cardinal will know he played a football game Sunday morning.
And if Stanford pulls the upset, expect Marecic to be a key reason why.
