STANFORD, Calif. -- Stanford got the fast start it needed.

A big special teams play. A fast start for quarterback Andrew Luck. An inspired defense. Oregon perhaps a bit flat on both sides of the ball.

But then LaMichael James went 60 yards up the middle, untouched, for a touchdown, closing the gap to 10-7.

That's the speed issue.

Now, can Luck, Toby Gerhart and the Cardinal offense counterpunch?
