Not often we post something that approximates a want-ad, but here you go, from the Pac-10 office:
First reaction: No executive search firms on the West Coast?
Second reaction: Good idea.
To be honest, I don't know what the "day-to-day operations" of the Pac-10 are at an administrative level, but if this helps Scott focus on the big picture issues -- increasing revenue and the media footprint -- then good for the Pac-10.
The Pacific-10 Conference has retained the firm of Spencer Stuart to conduct a national search for the position of Deputy Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer. The newly-created position will report directly to Pac-10 Commissioner Larry Scott, with the person selected being responsible for managing many of the day-to-day operations of the Conference. The search is being headed by up by Jed Hughes of Spencer Stuart New York. It is anticipated the new position will be filled by early 2010.
