Our final top-30 player rankings will start from the bottom and work up to No. 1.
28. Kenny Rowe, DE, Oregon (NR): Rowe isn't a complete player -- yet -- but his record three sacks in the Rose Bowl gave him a conference-high 11.5 for the season. His 15 tackles for loss were seven more than any other Ducks defender. He also broke up four passes and forced three fumbles.
29. Earl Mitchell, DT, Arizona (NR): Mitchell doesn't have ideal size but based on how well he played at the East-West Shrine Game he's got ... something. Mitchell, second-team All-Pac-10, had 12.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks for the Wildcats.
30. Travis Goethel, LB, Arizona State (NR): Who? you said. And, to be honest, he wasn't on the first draft of our new list. But, according to insiders at Arizona State, Goethel was the MVP -- and most consistent player -- on the defense that ranked first in the Pac-10 in total defense (297.8 yards per game) and second in scoring defense (21.1 ppg). He was particularly effective silencing opposing tight ends. He tied for the team lead with seven tackles for loss and ranked third in total tackles with 57.
