Oregon's Masoli should read these stories

We're almost ready to move past last week's court drama involving Oregon quarterback Jeremiah Masoli and running back LaMichael James, but these two stories from The Oregonian merit special note.

Guess here is that if Masoli reads them, he'd feel two types of pain.

  • A year ago, Masoli's extended family gathered at the Rose Bowl to celebrate its successful, hardworking son. It reminded me of a story I wrote about Masoli. Masoli cost himself a lot with his baffling, stupid decisions, but he also cost his family.
  • Speaking of those decisions: This guy should feel vindicated. I'm sure I'm not the only sportswriter who got all sorts of anonymous "tips" on the chief victim of Masoli's thefts. Turns out he was just a guy who got his stuff stolen.
Finally, if you want to return to point A of the whole fiasco, then click here. You can listen to the 911 call that got things rolling.
