Offenses shaky, first round to D's

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Oregon quarterback Darron Thomas had a first down on a spread-option but he made a terrible backwards pitch, and the Ducks went three-and-out.

Auburn got the ball in good field position and a 15-yard run into Ducks territory, but Kenny Rowe sacked Cam Newton and forced a fumble, which the Tigers got back.

Both offenses look rusty. And both defenses are fired up.
