California has decided to not be fancy. And it's working.

The Bears whipped Oregon State 23-6 with a conservative plan, and they are now bowl eligible after sitting out the postseason last season.
Isi Sofele rushed for a career-high 190 yards and one touchdown, and the Bears defense yielded just 270 yards -- 27 yards rushing -- to the woeful beavers.
It was the Bears' third win in four games and it snapped a four-game losing streak to the Beavers.
On the downside for Cal: 15 penalties for 130 yards.
Cal improved to 6-4 overall and 3-4 in the Pac-12. It's at Stanford next weekend in the annual Big Game.
Oregon State fell to 2-8 and 2-5. It plays host to Washington.
