Matt Barkley will be back. So will Taylor Mays (maybe).
Pete Carroll said both will start Saturday against Washington State, though judging from practice reports neither is 100 percent.
The Trojans are a 43-point favorite. They visit No. 6 California on Oct. 3.
Linebacker Malcolm Smith (ankle) won't play. He'll be replaced by Jordan Campbell. Linebacker Luthur Brown, who would have replaced Smith, is questionable with a back problem.
Further, the Trojans have changed punters. Jake Harfman will replace Billy O'Malley.
