We're looking at the top individual performances in the Pac-12 in 2011.

Up next: The recruiting mistake

Who & against whom? Oregon State defensive end Scott Crichton made life miserable for Washington in a 38-21 upset victory in Corvallis.

The numbers: Crichton, a true freshman, recorded two sacks and forced a key fourth-quarter fumble in the win over the Huskies. His five total tackles included three for loss.

A closer look: It's not just that Crichton dominated the Huskies. It's that the Tacoma, Wash., native -- he went to Foss High School -- wasn't recruited by Washington, an oversight that Huskies coach Steve Sarkisian was a stand-up guy about, calling the decision "a mistake." Of course, it would be hard to say otherwise about the 6-foot-3, 258-pounder. He finished the year with 14.5 tackles for loss, which ranked second in the Pac-12 regular season. He also had six sacks and led the conference with six forced fumbles. This performance was a cornerstone of the Huskies' worst loss of the season -- their only one to a team with a losing record -- and was the high point for the Beavers.
