Pac-12 media day is Tuesday in Burbank, Calif. We've already asked for a sampling of your questions, but our interest here is what are the most important questions you want answered.
This is about more than who's going to back up USC QB Matt Barkley. This is big picture and issue-oriented.
For example: You want to watch your Pac-12 football games this fall, right? All of them, right?
Well, if you have a satellite provider, you may be out of luck. It might be a good time to switch to cable. But how important is this issue to you?
Back on the playing field, we have the politics of scheduling. The Pac-12 blog has long pointed out how the nine-game conference schedule hurts the conference when other conferences -- such as the SEC and Big Ten -- play eight. This is a position shared, by the way, by a majority of coaches. And it's even more important as we head toward a four-team playoff in 2014. But how important is it to you?
Speaking of a four-team playoff: Who picks the four teams? And who decides the makeup of the selection committee? Should it just be a bunch of athletic directors? Former coaches? And are there any folks who shouldn't be considered?
And speaking of money, because that's really what we're doing when we talk about a new playoff, what about the players' share? The farce of amateurism is no longer defensible, even for those of us -- including yours truly -- who have long held the value of a full-ride scholarship is underestimated by many fans and pundits. If we could find a way to make it work -- you know: circumventing Title IX -- how much should the players be paid?
Maybe this administrative stuff bores you. Maybe you just like talking about games and players. So, here's one for you: Which Pac-12 player is most coveted by other coaches? The big question here is whether the coach would be brave enough to answer the question.
Here's your chance to rate what's important to you. So vote early and often.
