USC No. 1 in AP Top-25

USC checks in as the top team in the nation in the AP Top 25, which was released Saturday morning. The Trojans picked up 25 of 60 first-place votes. Alabama and LSU are second and third, respectively.

Oregon did not receive a first-place vote, but the Ducks are in at No. 5 -- the same spot they hold in the coaches' poll.

Alabama received 17 first-place votes and LSU had 16. No. 4 Oklahoma and No. 8 Michigan each received a first-place vote.

This is the seventh time in school history the Trojans have held the top spot in the preseason AP poll.

Stanford is the only other Pac-12 team in the Top 25, coming in at No. 21.

Washington and Utah both received votes.
