There are only two games in the first half of the day since Oregon State's opener against Nicholls State has been postponed. Here's a look at what's on tap:
Nevada at Cal (noon PT, Pac-12 Network): The Bears open renovated Memorial Stadium with a feeling of confidence that their balanced, pro-style attack will take flight this season now that quarterback Zach Maynard has had another year to mature in the offense. He's got plenty of weapons around him, and Cal's defense again projects to be one of the best in the conference. The Bears have led the Pac-12 in defense the past two seasons and averaged 7.6 tackles for loss per game last season.
Colorado vs. Colorado State (in Denver, 1 p.m. PT, FX): The Buffaloes and Rams renew an old rivalry, but there will be a lot of new faces on the field for Colorado. Quarterback Jordan Webb, a transfer from Kansas, makes his debut for the Buffs, who are expecting to play as many as 16 true freshmen. Three of them are on the depth chart as either a starter or sharing starting responsibilities.
