UCLA got a strong bounce-back performance. Utah didn't.
After struggling in a blowout loss at California, Bruins quarterback Brett Hundley was cool and efficient, completing 15 of 21 passes for 181 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed 15 times for 68 yards and a score in a 21-14 victory. After throwing four picks at Cal, he threw none versus the Utes.
UCLA outrushed the Utes 171 yards to 75.
Utah started freshman Travis Wilson at quarterback over senior Jon Hays. He completed 23 of 33 passes for 220 yards with an interception. He led a 90-yard drive in the fourth quarter for the Utes' only offensive score. Their other touchdown came on a fumbled punt in the end zone from UCLA.
The Utes (2-4) are 0-3 in Pac-12 play. They started 0-4 in their first year in the conference last year, but bounced back and won the Sun Bowl. They visit Oregon State next weekend.
UCLA improves to 5-2 overall and 2-2 in the Pac-12. The Bruins are off next week, then visit Arizona State on Oct. 27.
