The SEC is the nation's best conference, at least heading into the postseason. But who's going to end up No. 2?

The Pac-12 and Big 12 are in a dead heat for that spot in the latest ESPN Stats & Information’s college football power rankings.

The Pac-12 currently leads the Big 12 for the No. 2 spot by 0.4 points. Both took hits last weekend, as the SEC built its lead to nearly 15 points.

There is a huge gap thereafter. The Big 12 leads the Big Ten by 12.5 points. And the fifth-place ACC trails the Big 12 by 38.9.

The Pac-12 and Big 12 will play in the Holiday and Alamo Bowls, so that might help settle the ultimate ranking.
