Obviously, a lot will be written about Pete Carroll leaving USC for Seattle.
One place you won't get much: Carroll's Twitter page. He's posted, er, tweeted just once since Dec. 27.
But here's a sampling.
Bill Plaschke: It's not time to scold Carroll but to praise him.
L.A. Times: Carroll will get control with the Seahawks. USC is left with problems.
Most of the early buzz about Carroll's replacement centers on Oregon State coach Mike Riley -- a former Trojans assistant. But just because USC might want him and could pay him a lot more than he makes in Corvallis doesn't mean Riley would take the job.
The last paragraph of this Orange County Register story is particularly relevant because many folks at USC won't want embattled athletic director Mike Garrett to pick USC's next football coach: "Further muddling the situation is that school president Steven B. Sample is retiring in August. Many speculate that whoever becomes USC's next president will remove Garrett."
Steve Kelly doesn't think Carroll is a good hire for the Seahawks.
